“Somebody’s Gotta Think for the Masses”

Do you consider yourself to be part of the masses? Do you need the government to solve your problems for you? Do you need the media or anyone else to tell you what to think?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you will agree that America is moving in the right direction. However, if you are reading this blog, chances are much greater that you answered “no” to all of these questions, and you are gravely concerned about the direction in which America is headed. This blog is for you – the Individual, not the Mass; the Thinker, not the Regurgitator; the American Capitalist, not the European Socialist.

So who made the matter-of-fact statement that “somebody’s gotta think for the masses?” None other than Larry King in a discussion with Penn Jillette (of Penn & Teller) on his April 2nd, 2009, Larry King Live show. Watch the following clip, particularly between 5:29-5:50. And remember: this is what the liberal elites think of YOU!

UPDATE: This particular video has been removed from YouTube, so here is the dialogue:

LARRY KING: If [Obama’s] programs, Penn, brought about health insurance that pleased all, taxes that pleased most, a better way of life for a lot of people, then that’s the kind of success you would think you’d like.

PENN JILLETTE: I would think that if you please everybody on anything, you’re doing something wrong. But, luckily, there’s no chance of that. I just think that individuals are more important than a whole kind of group thing and that individuals can do more than a top down kind of thinking. I don’t think the government can solve all of our problems or should try.

KING: OK. But, Terry, we do have 300 million people, Terry. And you can be individuals as much as you like. Somebody’s gotta think for the masses.
